Delta bag rules worth knowing
- Delta also caps the carry-on at 45 linear inches (114 cm) in total, so a bag at the full 22 × 14 × 9 is right on the limit.
- On Delta Connection flights with 50 seats or fewer, larger carry-ons get a pink planeside tag and ride in the hold.
- Overweight bags of 51–70 lb cost $100 and oversize bags of 63–80 linear inches $200; nothing over 100 lb is accepted.
- Delta publishes no size: a purse, briefcase, small backpack, laptop bag or similar item that fits under the seat in front of you.
